naut is the music project of musician/producer Jordan Riding, based in Darwen, England.

With a love of music instilled from a young age, it was during college where Jordan was introduced to the music production software 'Reason'. This opened up endless musical possibilities with the chance to combine an ever-increasing love of electronica with samples and recorded instrumentation. Lots of time was then devoted to crafting a distinct style of electronic music, creating a series of releases and uploading them to SoundCloud under many different artist names.

Following interest from local label 'Sunbird Records' - naut signed to the label and released the debut album 'X Marks The Spot' in March 2015, accompanied by the first ever live naut shows, as well as DJ sets. This showcased naut's signature style of atmospheric electronic music with live guitars and modular synthesis included.

2017 saw the arrival of  'I Hardly Know You, I Barely Know Myself (Side A) & 'I Hardly Know You, I Barely Know Myself (Side B)' - two EP releases that were also accompanied by more live & DJ sets.

In 2018, Jordan began work on the second naut album 'a digital ocean of colour'. The first single from the album 'aperture' was released independently in 2021, and the album is nearing completion - scheduled for release in 2024.

Notable live sets include appearances at 'The Beat-Herder Festival' in 2016 & 2017, as well as an appearance at 'Solfest' in 2017.

Notable airplay includes a 30 minute mix created for Amazing Radio, as well as a track featured on the BBC Radio 1 Wind Down Mix, curated by 'Ross From Friends'.
